Bicycles and Ideas for Kids' Empowerment

b.i.k.e., an inner-city biking team in Portland, Oregon, facilitates the development of values and life skills essential for productive citizenship in inner-city youth through bicycling, tutoring, year-round mentoring, and leadership training.

Lifeworks

LifeWorks is Austin’s only non-profit organization to provide a continuum of services to youth and families, addressing critical needs to achieve lasting, positive change. Lifeworks offers offer a full continuum of support to homeless and runaway youth, including Austin’s only walk-in emergency shelter.

Amnesty International

Amnesty International (AI) is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for internationally recognized human rights. AI's vision is of a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards.

The Gerda and Kurt Klein Foundation

The Klein Foundation creates the opportunity for young people to understand the world and translate that understanding into positive action. This non-profit, public foundation promotes education which teaches tolerance and respect for others, and encourages community service focusing on ending hunger.

Invisible Children

This organization is dedicated to ending the war in Northern Uganda where children are abducted, tortured or killed in front of their peers, or forced to fight with the rebel army as child soldiers. For fear of being hunted by the LRA (Lord’s Resistance Army), these children commute on foot every night to find safe places to sleep. To date, more than 30,000 children have been abducted, tortured and killed, or forced into war.

Interfaith Care Alliance

Interfaith Care Alliance provides compassionate, practical and emotional support for people living with AIDS and other serious illnesses and their loved ones. ICA works together in faith traditions to build a community where all people facing a difficult illness will receive loving care and support.

House the Homeless

House The Homeless, an educational and advocacy group was founded in Austin, TX in 1989. At no time does the make up of the Board ever fall below 60% of homeless and formerly homeless people. The mission is of HTH is Education and Advocacy surrounding the issues of homelessness.

Universal Living Wage

We must ensure that every American is working. And we must ensure that every working American is paid a Fair Living Wage.
The Universal Living Wage is based on the premise that if a person works 40 hours a week, then he/she should be able to afford basic housing.

Tanner Romania Mission

Tanner Romania Mission's goal is to provide for the children taken into their care for the rest of their lifetime.
The Mission seeks to give hope to these children that have both seen and experienced so much suffering, providing them with life skills to help them look after themselves within the confines of a safe, secure and supportive family environment.

MARCH Initiative in Haiti

MARCH is a non-profit agency run by Dr. Antoine Augustin, a Haitian physician. With partial support from the Haitian Ministry of Health and a few non-governmental organizations, it provides health care to some 175,000 persons in villages in Haiti’s rural central plateau. To fully meet the health needs of this population, MARCH depends on donations from the private sector, foundation grants, and corporations.

Heal Africa

HEAL Africa is a Christian organization whose mission is to support DOCS Africa to care for the vulnerable through physical, spiritual, and social healing by training health professionals and strengthening social activists.
